Sura: 7 - al-A`araaf (The Heights) Ayat: 189
۞ هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّاهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ ۖ فَلَمَّا أَثْقَلَتْ دَعَوَا اللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ آتَيْتَنَا صَالِحًا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ (189
وہی خد اہے جس نے تم سب کو ایک نفس سے پیدا کیا ہے اور پھر اسی سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا ہے تاکہ اس سے سکون حاصل ہو اس کے بعد شوہر نے زوجہ سے مقاربت کی تو ہلکا سا حمل پید اہوا جسے وہ لئے پھرتی رہی پھر حمل بھاری ہوا اور وقت ولادت قریب آیا تو دونوں نے پروردگار سے دعا کی کہ اگر ہم کو صالح اولاد دے دے گا تو ہم تیرے شکر گزار بندوں میں ہوں گے
[YOUSAF ALI] It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed). When she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah their Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful."
[ PICKTHAL ] He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful.
[ SHAKIR ] He it is Who created you from a single being, and of the same (kind) did He make his mate, that he might incline to her; so when he covers her she bears a light burden, then moves about with it; but when it grows heavy, they both call upon Allah, their Lord: If Thou givest us a good one, we shall certainly be of the grateful ones.

Sura: 30 - ar-Room (The Romans) Ayat: 21
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُمْ مَوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (21
اور اس کی نشانیوں میں سے یہ بھی ہے کہ اس نے تمہارا جوڑا تم ہی میں سے پیدا کیا ہے تاکہ تمہیں اس سے سکون حاصل ہو اور پھر تمہارے درمیان محبت اور رحمت قرار دی ہے کہ اس میں صاحبانِ فکر کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquillity with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect.
[ PICKTHAL ] And of His signs is this: He created for you helpmeets from yourselves that ye might find rest in them, and He ordained between you love and mercy. Lo! herein indeed are portents for folk who reflect.
[ SHAKIR ] And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.
