Sura: 9 - at-Tawba (The Repentance) From Ayat: 38 to 39 يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ۚ أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ (38
ایمان والو تمہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ جب تم سے کہا گیا کہ راہ هخدا میں جہاد کے لئے نکلو تو تم زمین سے چپک کر رہ گئے کیا تم آخرت کے بدلے زندگانی دنیا سے راضی ہوگئے ہو تو یاد رکھو کہ آخرت میں اس متاع هزندگانی دنیا کی حقیقت بہت قلیل ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter.
[ PICKTHAL ] O ye who believe! What aileth you that when it is said unto you: Go forth in the way of Allah, ye are bowed down to the ground with heaviness. Take ye pleasure in the life of the world rather than in the Hereafter? The comfort of the life of the world is but little in the Hereafter.
[ SHAKIR ] O you who believe! What (excuse) have you that when it is said to you: Go forth in Allah's way, you should incline heavily to earth; are you contented with this world's life instead of the hereafter? But the provision of this world's life compared with the hereafter is but little.
Sura: 9 - at-Tawba (The Repentance) From Ayat: 38 to 39 إِلَّا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْئًا ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (39
اگر تم راہ هخدا میں نہ نکلو گے تو خدا تمہیں دردناک عذا میں مبتلا کرے گا اور تمہارے بدلے دوسری قوم کو لے آئے گا اور تم اسے کوئی نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتے ہو کہ وہ ہر شے پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For Allah hath power over all things.
[ PICKTHAL ] If ye go not forth He will afflict you with a painful doom, and will choose instead of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot harm Him at all. Allah is Able to do all things.
[ SHAKIR ] If you do not go forth, He will chastise you with a painful chastisement and bring in your place a people other than you, and you will do Him no harm; and Allah has power over all things.
