- Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) Ayat: 124
۞ وَإِذِ ابْتَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا ۖ قَالَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ (124
اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب خدا نے چند کلمات کے ذریعے ابراہیم علیہ السّلام کا امتحان لیا اور انہوں نے پورا کردیا تو اس نے کہا کہ ہم تم کو لوگوں کا امام اور قائد بنا رہے ہیں. انہوں نے عرض کی کہ میری ذرِّیت؟ ارشاد ہوا کہ یہ عہدہِ امامت ظالمین تک نہیں جائے گا
[YOUSAF ALI] And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers."
[ PICKTHAL ] And (remember) when his Lord tried Abraham with (His) commands, and he fulfilled them, He said: Lo! I have appointed thee a leader for mankind. (Abraham) said: And of my offspring (will there be leaders)? He said: My covenant includeth not wrong-doers.
[ SHAKIR ] And when his Lord tried Ibrahim with certain words, he fulfilled them. He said: Surely I will make you an Imam of men. Ibrahim said: And of my offspring? My covenant does not include the unjust, said He.
- Sura: 3 - aal-`Imraan (The Family of `Imraan) Ayat: 118
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِنْ دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۖ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ (118
اے ایمان والو خبردار غیروں کو اپنا راز دار نہ بنانا یہ تمہیں نقصان پہنچانے میں کوئی کوتاہی نہ کریں گے- یہ صرف تمہاری مشقت و مصیبت کے خواہش مند ہیں- ان کی عداوت زبان سے بھی ظاہر ہے اور جو دل میں چھپا رکھا ہے وہ تو بہت زیادہ ہے. ہم نے تمہارے لئے نشانیوں کو واضح کرکے بیان کردیا ہے اگر تم صاحبانِ عقل ہو
[YOUSAF ALI] O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom.
[ PICKTHAL ] O ye who believe! Take not for intimates others than your own folk, who would spare no pains to ruin you; they love to hamper you. Hatred is revealed by (the utterance of) their mouths, but that which their breasts hide is greater. We have made plain for you the revelations if ye will understand.
[ SHAKIR ] O you who believe! do not take for intimate friends from among others than your own people; they do not fall short of inflicting loss upon you; they love what distresses you; vehement hatred has already appeared from out of their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater still; indeed, We have made the communications clear to you, if you will understand.
- Sura: 4 - an-Nisaa' (The Women) Ayat: 59
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ ۖ فَإِنْ تَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا (59
ایمان والو اللہ کی اطاعت کرو رسول اور صاحبانِ امر کی اطاعت کرو جو تم ہی میں سے ہیں پھر اگر آپس میں کسی بات میں اختلاف ہوجائے تو اسے خدا اور رسول کی طرف پلٹا دو اگر تم اللہ اور روز آخرت پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہو- یہی تمہارے حق میں خیر اور انجام کے اعتبار سے بہترین بات ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination.
[ PICKTHAL ] O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger and those of you who are in authority; and if ye have a dispute concerning any matter, refer it to Allah and the messenger if ye are (in truth) believers in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more seemly in the end.
[ SHAKIR ] O you who believe! obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority from among you; then if you quarrel about anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the last day; this is better and very good in the end.
- Sura: 4 - an-Nisaa' (The Women) Ayat: 83
وَإِذَا جَاءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِنَ الْأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا بِهِ ۖ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰ أُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَنْبِطُونَهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لَاتَّبَعْتُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا (83
اور جب ان کے پاس امن یا خوف کی خبر آتی ہے تو فورا نشر کردیتے ہیں حالانکہ اگر رسول اور صاحبانِ امر کی طرف پلٹا دیتے تو ان سے استفادہ کرنے والے حقیقت حال کا علم پیدا کرلیتے اور اگر تم لوگوں پر خدا کا فضل اور ا سکی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو چند افراد کے علاوہ سب شیطان کا اتباع کرلیتے
[YOUSAF ALI] When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan.
[ PICKTHAL ] And if any tidings, whether of safety or fear, come unto them, they noise it abroad, whereas if they had referred it to the messenger and to such of them as are in authority, those among them who are able to think out the matter would have known it. If it had not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy ye would have followed Satan, save a few (of you).
[ SHAKIR ] And when there comes to them news of security or fear they spread it abroad; and if they had referred it to the Messenger and to those in authority among them, those among them who can search out the knowledge of it would have known it, and were it not for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have certainly followed the Shaitan save a few
