- Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) Ayat: 31
وَعَلَّمَ آدَمَ الْأَسْمَاءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنْبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (31
اور خدا نے آدم علیہ السّلام کو تمام اسماء کی تعلیم دی اور پھر ان سب کو ملائکہ کے سامنے پیش کر کے فرمایا کہ ذرا تم ان سب کے نام تو بتاؤ اگر تم اپنے خیالِ استحقاق میں سچّے ہو
[YOUSAF ALI] And He taught Adam the names of all things; then He placed them before the angels, and said: "Tell me the names of these if ye are right."
[ PICKTHAL ] And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying: Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.
[ SHAKIR ] And He taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; then He said: Tell me the names of those if you are right.
- Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) Ayat: 116
وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ بَلْ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ قَانِتُونَ (116
اور یہودی کہتے ہیں کہ خدا کے اولاد بھی ہے حالانکہ وہ پاک و بے نیاز ہے. زمین و آسمان میں جو کچھ بھی ہے سب اسی کا ہے اور سب اسی کے فرمانبردار ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] They say: "Allah hath begotten a son" :Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him.
[ PICKTHAL ] And they say: Allah hath taken unto Himself a son. Be He glorified! Nay, but whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth is His. All are subservient unto Him.
[ SHAKIR ] And they say: Allah has taken to himself a son. Glory be to Him; rather, whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His; all are obedient to Him.
- Sura: 3 - aal-`Imraan (The Family of `Imraan) Ayat: 81
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُمْ مِنْ كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُصَدِّقٌ لِمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنْصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِي ۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ (81
اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب خدا نے تمام انبیائ سے عہد لیا کہ ہم تم کو جو کتاب و حکمت دے رہے ہیں اس کے بعد جب وہ رسول آجائے جو تمہاری کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہے تو تم سب اس پر ایمان لے آنا اور اس کی مدد کرنا .اور پھر پوچھا کیا تم نے ان باتوں کا اقرار کرلیا اور ہمارے عہد کو قبول کرلیا تو سب نے کہا بیشک ہم نے اقرار کرلیا- ارشاد ہوا کہ اب تم سب گواہ بھی رہنا اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ گواہوں میں ہوں
[YOUSAF ALI] Behold! Allah took the covenant of the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you a messenger, confirming what is with you; do ye believe in him and render him help." Allah said: "Do ye agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
[ PICKTHAL ] When Allah made (His) covenant with the prophets, (He said): Behold that which I have given you of the Scripture and knowledge. And afterward there will come unto you a messenger, confirming that which ye possess. Ye shall believe in him and ye shall help him. He said: Do ye agree, and will ye take up My burden (which I lay upon you) in this (matter)? They answered: We agree. He said: Then bear ye witness. I will be a witness with you.
[ SHAKIR ] And when Allah made a covenant through the prophets: Certainly what I have given you of Book and wisdom-- then an messenger comes to you verifying that which is with you, you must believe in him, and you must aid him. He said: Do you affirm and accept My compact in this (matter)? They said: We do affirm. He said: Then bear witness, and I (too) am of the bearers of witness with you.
- Sura: 7 - al-A`araaf (The Heights) Ayat: 172

اور جب تمھارے پروردگار نے فرزند ان آدم علیہ السّلام کی پشتوں سے انکی ذرّیت کو لے کر انھیں خود ان کے اوپر گواہ بنا کر سوال کیا کہ کیا میں تمھارا خدا نہیں ہوں تو سب نے کہا بیشک ہم اس کے گواہ ہیں- یہ عہد اس لئے لیا کہ روزِ قیامت یہ نہ کہہ سکو کہ ہم اس عہد سے غافل تھے
[YOUSAF ALI] When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?"- They said: "Yea! We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful":
[ PICKTHAL ] And (remember) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their reins, their seed, and made them testify of themselves, (saying): Am I not your Lord? They said: Yea, verily. We testify. (That was) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection: Lo! of this we were unaware;
[ SHAKIR ] And when your Lord brought forth from the children of Adam, from their backs, their descendants, and made them bear witness against their own souls: Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes! we bear witness. Lest you should say on the day of resurrection: Surely we were heedless of this.
- Sura: 16 - an-Nahl (The Bee) From Ayat: 12 to 14
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ وَالنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَاتٌ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ (12
اور اسی نے تمہارے رات دن اور آفتاب و ماہتاب سب کو مسخر کردیا ہے اور ستارے بھی اسی کے حکم کے تابع ہیں بیشک اس میں بھی صاحبانِ عقل کے لئے قدرت کی بہت سی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise.
[ PICKTHAL ] And He hath constrained the night and the day and the sun and the moon to be of service unto you, and the stars are made subservient by His command. Lo! herein indeed are portents for people who have sense.
[ SHAKIR ] And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder;
- Sura: 16 - an-Nahl (The Bee) From Ayat: 12 to 14
وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَانُهُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ (13
اور جو کچھ تمہارے لئے اس زمین کے اندر مختلف رنگوں میں پیدا کیا ہے اس میں بھی عبرت حاصل کرنے والی قوم کے لئے اس کی نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).
[ PICKTHAL ] And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed.
[ SHAKIR ] And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful.
- Sura: 16 - an-Nahl (The Bee) From Ayat: 12 to 14
وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ (14
اور وہی وہ ہے جس نے سمندروں کو مّسخردیا ہے تاکہ تم اس میں سے تازہ گوشت کھاسکو اور پہننے کے لئے زینت کا سامان نکال سکو اور تم تو دیکھ رہے ہو کہ کشتیاں کس طرح اس کے سینے کو چیرتی ہوئی چلی جارہی ہیں اور یہ سب اس لئے بھی ہے کہ تم اس کے فضل و کرم کو تلاش کرسکو اور شاید اسی طرح اس کے شکر گزار بندے بھی بن جاؤ
[YOUSAF ALI] It is He Who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful.
[ PICKTHAL ] And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks.
[ SHAKIR ] And He it is Who has made the sea subservient that you may eat fresh flesh from it and bring forth from it ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships cleaving through it, and that you might seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks.
- Sura: 30 - ar-Room (The Romans) Ayat: 26
وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ قَانِتُونَ (26
آسمان و زمین میں جو کچھ بھی ہے سب اسی کی ملکیت ہے اور سب اسی کے تابع فرمان ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] To Him belongs every being that is in the heavens and on earth: all are devoutly obedient to Him.
[ PICKTHAL ] Unto Him belongeth whosoever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient unto Him.
[ SHAKIR ] And His is whosoever is in the heavens and the earth; all are obedient to Him.
- Sura: 35 - Faatir (The Originator) Ayat: 28
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ وَالدَّوَابِّ وَالْأَنْعَامِ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ كَذَٰلِكَ ۗ إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ غَفُورٌ (28
اور انسانوں اور چوپایوں اور جانوروں میں بھی مختلف رنگ کی مخلوقات پائی جاتی ہیں لیکن اللہ سے ڈرنے والے اس کے بندوں میں صرف صاحبانِ معرفت ہیں بیشک اللہ صاحب هعزّت اور بہت بخشنے والا ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
[ PICKTHAL ] And of men and beasts and cattle, in like manner, divers hues? The erudite among His bondmen fear Allah alone. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.
[ SHAKIR ] And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.
- Sura: 41 - Fussilat (Explained in detail) Ayat: 53
سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ۗ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ (53
ہم عنقریب اپنی نشانیوں کو تمام اطراف عالم میں اور خود ان کے نفس کے اندر دکھلائیں گے تاکہ ان پر یہ بات واضح ہوجائے کہ وہ برحق ہے اور کیا پروردگار کے لئے یہ بات کافی نہیں ہے کہ وہ ہر شے کا گواہ اور سب کا دیکھنے والا ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?
[ PICKTHAL ] We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things?
[ SHAKIR ] We will soon show them Our signs in the Universe and in their own souls, until it will become quite clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient as regards your Lord that He is a witness over all things?
- Sura: 45 - al-Jaathiya (Crouching) Ayat: 13
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (13
اور اسی نے تمہارے لئے زمین و آسمان کی تمام چیزوں کو لَسّخر کردیا ہے بیشمَ اس میں غور و فکر کرنے والی قوم کے لئے نشانیاں پائی جاتی ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect.
[ PICKTHAL ] And hath made of service unto you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth; it is all from Him. Lo! herein verily are portents for a people who reflect.
[ SHAKIR ] And He has made subservient to you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, all, from Himself; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.
