Sura: 5 - al-Maaida (The Table) Ayat: 38 وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَالًا مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ (38
چور مرد اور چور عورت دونوں کے ہاتھ کاٹ دو کہ یہ ان کے لئے بدلہ اور خدا کی طرف سے ایک سزا ہے اور خدا صاحبِ عزّت بھی ہے اور صاحبِ حکمت بھی ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power.
[ PICKTHAL ] As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
[ SHAKIR ] And (as for) the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as a punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.
[ REMARKS : Punishment of thief man and women is to cut their hands. ]
