Sura: 11 - Hud (Hud) Ayat: 54 إِنْ نَقُولُ إِلَّا اعْتَرَاكَ بَعْضُ آلِهَتِنَا بِسُوءٍ ۗ قَالَ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ وَاشْهَدُوا أَنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ (54
ہم صرف یہ کہنا چاہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے خداؤں میں سے کسی نے آپ کو دیوانہ بنادیا ہے -ہود نے کہا کہ میں خدا کو گواہ بناکر کہتا ہوں اور تم بھی گواہ رہنا کہ میں تمہارے شرک سے بیزار ہوں
[YOUSAF ALI] "We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with imbecility." He said: "I call Allah to witness, and do ye bear witness, that I am free from the sin of ascribing, to Him,
[ PICKTHAL ] We say naught save that one of our gods hath possessed thee in an evil way. He said: I call Allah to witness, and do ye (too) bear witness, that I am innocent of (all) that ye ascribe as partners (to Allah)
[ SHAKIR ] We cannot say aught but that some of our gods have smitten you with evil. He said: Surely I call Allah to witness, and do you bear witness too, that I am clear of what you associate (with Allah).
[ REMARKS : Prophet Hud was considered as insane by the disbelievers of his nation. It was an old tradition of disbelievers to label the Prophet as insane. ]
