Prophet, Asked to fight Kuffar and Munafiqeen

1. Sura: 9 - at-Tawba (The Repentance) Ayat: 73

   يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ (73

   پیغمبر !کفار اور منافقین سے جہاد کیجئے اور ان پر سختی کیجئے کہ ان کا انجام جہنّم ہے جو بدترین ٹھکانا ہے

   [YOUSAF ALI] O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

   [ PICKTHAL ] O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end.

   [ SHAKIR ] O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.

   [ REMARKS : Prophet(sawaw) was ordained Jihad by Allah(swt) Kuffar and Munafiqeen. Prophet(sawaw) in his lifetime only fought Kuffar and the wars against Munafiqeen were fought on behalf of the Prophet by Imam Ali(a.s.) - Jamal, Siffin and Nahrwan. ]
