اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب ہم نے خانہ کعبہ کو ثواب اور امن کی جگہ بنایا اور حکم دے دیا کہ مقام ابراہیم علیہ السّلام کو مصّلی بناؤ اور ابراہیم علیہ السّلام و اسماعیل علیہ السّلام سے عہد لیا کہ ہمارے گھر کو طواف اور اعتکاف کرنے والوں اور رکوع و سجدہ کرنے والوں کے لئے پاک و پاکیزہ بنائے رکھو
[YOUSAF ALI] Remember We made the House a place of assembly for men and a place of safety; and take ye the station of Abraham as a place of prayer; and We covenanted with Abraham and Isma'il, that they should sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or use it as a retreat, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer).
[ PICKTHAL ] And when We made the House (at Makka) a resort for mankind and sanctuary, (saying): Take as your place of worship the place where Abraham stood (to pray). And We imposed a duty upon Abraham and Ishmael, (saying): Purify My house for those who go around and those who meditate therein and those who bow down and prostrate themselves (in worship).
[ SHAKIR ] And when We made the House a pilgrimage for men and a (place of) security, and: Appoint for yourselves a place of prayer on the standing-place of Ibrahim. And We enjoined Ibrahim and Ismail saying: Purify My House for those who visit (it) and those who abide (in it) for devotion and those who bow down (and) those who prostrate themselves.
[ REMARKS : Kaaba was made by Ibrahim(a.s.) and Ismael(a.s.) and was kept pure by them for people for circumabulance, Aitekaf and praying ]

پیغمبرؐ آپ جہاں سے باہر نکلیں اپنا رخ مسجد الحرام کی سمت ہی رکھیں کہ یہی پروردگار کی طرف سے حق ہے- اور اللہ تم لوگوں کے اعمال سے غافل نہیں ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] From whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; that is indeed the truth from the Lord. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.
[ PICKTHAL ] And whencesoever thou comest forth (for prayer, O Muhammad) turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship. Lo! it is the Truth from thy Lord. Allah is not unaware of what ye do.
[ SHAKIR ] And from whatsoever place you come forth, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque; and surely it is the very truth from your Lord, and Allah is not at all heedless of what you do.
[ REMARKS : Prophet(sawaw) and all Muslims were ordered to face Masjid-ul-Haram ]

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۚ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنْتُمْ فَوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَاخْشَوْنِي وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ (150
اور آپ جہاں سے بھی نکلیں اپنا رخ خانئہ کعبہ کی طرف رکھیں اور پھر تم سب جہاں رہو تم سب بھی اپنا رخ ادھر ہی رکھو تاکہ لوگوں کے لئے تمہارے اوپر کوئی حجت نہ رہ جائے سوائے ان لوگوں کے کہ جو ظالم ہیں تو ان کا خوف نہ کرو بلکہ اللہ سے ڈرو کہ ہم تم پر اپنی نعمت تمام کردینا چاہتے ہیں کہ شاید تم ہدایت یافتہ ہوجاؤ
[YOUSAF ALI] So from whencesoever Thou startest forth, turn Thy face in the direction of the sacred Mosque; and wheresoever ye are, Turn your face thither: that there be no ground of dispute against you among the people, except those of them that are bent on wickedness; so fear them not, but fear Me; and that I may complete My favours on you, and ye May (consent to) be guided;
[ PICKTHAL ] Whencesoever thou comest forth turn thy face toward the Inviolable Place of Worship; and wheresoever ye may be (O Muslims) turn your faces toward it (when ye pray) so that men may have no argument against you, save such of them as do injustice - Fear them not, but fear Me! - and so that I may complete My grace upon you, and that ye may be guided.
[ SHAKIR ] And from whatsoever place you come forth, turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque; and wherever you are turn your faces towards it, so that people shall have no accusation against you, except such of them as are unjust; so do not fear them, and fear Me, that I may complete My favor on you and that you may walk on the right course.

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ (96
بیشک سب سے پہلا مکان جو لوگوں کے لئے بنایا گیا ہے وہ مکّہ میں ہے مبارک ہے اور عالمین کے لئے مجسم ہدایت ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings:
[ PICKTHAL ] Lo! the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind was that at Becca, a blessed place, a guidance to the peoples;
[ SHAKIR ] Most surely the first house appointed for men is the one at Bekka, blessed and a guidance for the nations.
[ REMARKS : First house / sactuary for people was appointed by Allah(swt) in Bakka (Makkah). It has guidance for mankind. What guidance did we get from Kaaba? ]
