- Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) From Ayat: 8 to 20
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُمْ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ (8
کچھ لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم خدا اور آخرت پر ایمان لائے ہیں حالانکہ وہ صاحب ایمان نہیں ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] Of the people there are some who say: "We believe in Allah and the Last Day;" but they do not (really) believe.
[ PICKTHAL ] And of mankind are some who say: We believe in Allah and the Last Day, when they believe not.
[ SHAKIR ] And there are some people who say: We believe in Allah and the last day; and they are not at all believers.

يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ (9
یہ خدا اور صاحبان ایمان کو دھوکہ دینا چاہتے ہیں حالانکہ اپنے ہی کو دھوکہ دے رہے ہیں اور سمجھتے بھی نہیں ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!
[ PICKTHAL ] They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not.
[ SHAKIR ] They desire to deceive Allah and those who believe, and they deceive only themselves and they do not perceive.

فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ (10
ان کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے اور خدا نے نفاق کی بنا پر اسے اور بھی بڑھا دیا ہے. اب اس جھوٹ کے نتیجہ میں انہیں درد ناک عذاب ملے گا
[YOUSAF ALI] In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).
[ PICKTHAL ] In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie.
[ SHAKIR ] There is a disease in their hearts, so Allah added to their disease and they shall have a painful chastisement because they

جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ زمین میں فساد نہ برپا کرو تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تو صرف اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!"
[ PICKTHAL ] And when it is said unto them: Make not mischief in the earth, they say: We are peacemakers only.
[ SHAKIR ] And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers.

[YOUSAF ALI] Of a surety, they are the ones who make mischief, but they realise (it) not.
[ PICKTHAL ] Are not they indeed the mischief-makers? But they perceive not.
[ SHAKIR ] Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive.

جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ دوسرے مومنین کی طرح ایمان لے آؤ تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بے وقوفوں کی طرح ایمان اختیار کرلیں حالانکہ اصل میں یہی بے وقوف ہیں اور انہیں اس کی واقفیت بھی نہیں ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] When it is said to them: "Believe as the others believe:" They say: "Shall we believe as the fools believe?" Nay, of a surety they are the fools, but they do not know.
[ PICKTHAL ] And when it is said unto them: believe as the people believe, they say: shall we believe as the foolish believe? are not they indeed the foolish? But they know not.
[ SHAKIR ] And when it is said to them: Believe as the people believe they say: Shall we believe as the fools believe? Now surely they themselves are the fools, but they do not know.

جب یہ صاحبانِ ایمان سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے اور جب اپنے شیاطین کی خلوتوں میں جاتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تمہاری ہی پارٹی میں ہیں ہم تو صرف صاحبانِ ایمان کا مذاق اڑاتے ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] When they meet those who believe, they say: "We believe;" but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: "We are really with you: We (were) only jesting."
[ PICKTHAL ] And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe; but when they go apart to their devils they declare: Lo! we are with you; verily we did but mock.
[ SHAKIR ] And when they meet those who believe, they say: We believe; and when they are alone with their Shaitans, they say: Surely we are with you, we were only mocking.

اللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ (15
حالانکہ خدا خود ان کو مذاق بنائے ہوئے ہے اور انہیں سرکشی میں ڈھیل دیئے ہوئے ہے جو انہیں نظر بھی نہیں آ رہی ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and give them rope in their trespasses; so they will wander like blind ones (To and fro).
[ PICKTHAL ] Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
[ SHAKIR ] Allah shall pay them back their mockery, and He leaves them alone in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُا الضَّلَالَةَ بِالْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَتْ تِجَارَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا مُهْتَدِينَ (16
یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے ہدایت کو دے کرگمراہی خرید لی ہے جس تجارت سے نہ کوئی فائدہ ہے اور نہ اس میں کسی طرح کی ہدایت ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] These are they who have bartered Guidance for error: But their traffic is profitless, and they have lost true direction,
[ PICKTHAL ] These are they who purchase error at the price of guidance, so their commerce doth not prosper, neither are they guided.
[ SHAKIR ] These are they who buy error for the right direction, so their bargain shall bring no gain, nor are they the followers of the right direction.

مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي اسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا فَلَمَّا أَضَاءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُ ذَهَبَ اللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ (17
ان کی مثال اس شخص کی ہے جس نے روشنی کے لئے آگ بھڑکائی اور جب ہر طرف روشنی پھیل گئی تو خدا نے اس کے نور کو سلب کرلیا اور اب اسے اندھیرے میں کچھ سوجھتا بھی نہیں ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Their similitude is that of a man who kindled a fire; when it lighted all around him, Allah took away their light and left them in utter darkness. So they could not see.
[ PICKTHAL ] Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindleth fire, and when it sheddeth its light around him Allah taketh away their light and leaveth them in darkness, where they cannot see,
[ SHAKIR ] Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-- they do not see.

[YOUSAF ALI] Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).
[ PICKTHAL ] Deaf, dumb and blind; and they return not.
[ SHAKIR ] Deaf, dumb (and) blind, so they will not turn back.

أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ مِنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ (19
ان کی دوسری مثال آسمان کی اس بارش کی ہے جس میں تاریکی اور گرج چمک سب کچھ ہوکہ موت کے خوف سے کڑک دیکھ کر کانوں میں انگلیاں رکھ لیں. حالانکہ خدا کافروں کا احاطہ کئے ہوئے ہے اور یہ بچ کر نہیں جا سکتے ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] Or (another similitude) is that of a rain-laden cloud from the sky: In it are zones of darkness, and thunder and lightning: They press their fingers in their ears to keep out the stunning thunder-clap, the while they are in terror of death. But Allah is ever round the rejecters of Faith!
[ PICKTHAL ] Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death, Allah encompasseth the disbelievers (in His guidance, His omniscience and His omnipotence).
[ SHAKIR ] Or like abundant rain from the cloud in which is utter darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder peal, for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the unbelievers.

يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ ۖ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُمْ مَشَوْا فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (20
قریب ہے کہ بجلی ان کی آنکھوں کو چکاچوندھ کردے کہ جب وہ چمک جائے تو چل پڑیں اور جب اندھیرا ہوجائے تو ٹھہر جائیں. خدا چاہے تو ان کی سماعت و بصارت کو بھی ختم کرسکتا ہے کہ وہ ہر شے پر قدرت و اختیار رکھنے والا ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] The lightning all but snatches away their sight; every time the light (Helps) them, they walk therein, and when the darkness grows on them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their faculty of hearing and seeing; for Allah hath power over all things.
[ PICKTHAL ] The lightning almost snatcheth away their sight from them. As often as it flasheth forth for them they walk therein, and when it darkeneth against them they stand still. If Allah willed, He could destroy their hearing and their sight. Lo! Allah is able to do all things.
[ SHAKIR ] The lightning almost takes away their sight; whenever it shines on them they walk in it, and when it becomes dark to them they stand still; and if Allah had pleased He would certainly have taken away their hearing and their sight; surely Allah has power over all things.

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ (42
حق کو باطل سے مخلوط نہ کرو اور جان بوجھ کر حق کی پردہ پوشی نہ کرو
[YOUSAF ALI] And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is).
[ PICKTHAL ] Confound not truth with falsehood, nor knowingly conceal the truth.
[ SHAKIR ] And do not mix up the truth with the falsehood, nor hide the truth while you know (it).
[ REMARKS : Do not mix right with wrong and do not hide the truth intentionally ]

یہ یہودی ایمان والوں سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بھی ایمان لے آئے اور آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ کیا تم مسلمانوں کو توریت کے مطالب بتا دو گے کہ وہ اپنے نبیؐ کے اوصاف سے تمہارے اوپر استدلال کریں کیا تمہیں عقل نہیں ہے کہ ایسی حماقت کرو گے
[YOUSAF ALI] Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?
[ PICKTHAL ] And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe. But when they go apart one with another they say: Prate ye to them of that which Allah hath disclosed to you that they may contend with you before your Lord concerning it? Have ye then no sense?
[ SHAKIR ] And when they meet those who believe they say: We believe, and when they are alone one with another they say: Do you talk to them of what Allah has disclosed to you that they may contend with you by this before your Lord? Do you not then understand?

- Sura: 3 - aal-`Imraan (The Family of `Imraan) Ayat: 119

خبردار... تم ان سے دوستی کرتے ہو اور یہ تم سے دوستی نہیں کرتے ہیں- تم تمام کتابوں پر ایمان رکھتے ہو اور یہ جب تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے اور جب اکیلے ہوتے ہیں تو غّصہ سے انگلیاں کاٹتے ہیں- پیغمبرؐ آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ تم اسی غّصہ میں مرجاؤ. خدا سب کے دل کے حالات سے خوب باخبر ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."
[ PICKTHAL ] Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts.
[ SHAKIR ] Lo! you are they who will love them while they do not love you, and you believe in the Book (in) the whole of it; and when they meet you they say: We believe, and when they are alone, they bite the ends of their fingers in rage against you. Say: Die in your rage; surely Allah knows what is in the breasts.
[ REMARKS : Munafiqeen say that they have accepted Islam in the company but in reality have not. ]

- Sura: 3 - aal-`Imraan (The Family of `Imraan) Ayat: 153
۞ إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُونَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِي أُخْرَاكُمْ فَأَثَابَكُمْ غَمًّا بِغَمٍّ لِكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَا أَصَابَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ (153
اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب تم بلندی پر جارہے تھے اور مڑ کر کسی کو دیکھتے بھی نہ تھے جب کہ رسول پیچھے کھڑے تمہیں آواز دے رہے تھے جس کے نتیجہ میں خدا نے تمہیں غم کے بدلے غم دیا تاکہ نہ اس پر رنجیدہ ہو جو چیز ہاتھ سے نکل گئی اور نہ اس مصیبت پر جو نازل ہوگئی ہے اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Behold! ye were climbing up the high ground, without even casting a side glance at any one, and the Messenger in your rear was calling you back. There did Allah give you one distress after another by way of requital, to teach you not to grieve for (the booty) that had escaped you and for (the ill) that had befallen you. For Allah is well aware of all that ye do.
[ PICKTHAL ] When ye climbed (the hill) and paid no heed to anyone, while the messenger, in your rear, was calling you (to fight). Therefor He rewarded you grief for (his) grief, that (He might teach) you not to sorrow either for that which ye missed or for that which befell you. Allah is Informed of what ye do.
[ SHAKIR ] When you ran off precipitately and did not wait for any one, and the Messenger was calling you from your rear, so He gave you another sorrow instead of (your) sorrow, so that you might not grieve at what had escaped you, nor (at) what befell you; and Allah is aware of what you do.
[ REMARKS : Hypocrites in battle of Ohod left the Prophet(sawaw) stranded in the battle field and ran away ]

- Sura: 3 - aal-`Imraan (The Family of `Imraan) Ayat: 167

اور منافقین کو بھی دیکھنا چاہتا تھا .ان منافقین سے کہا گیا کہ آؤ راہِ خدا میں جہاد کرو یا اپنے نفس سے دفاع کرو تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم کو معلوم ہوتا کہ واقعی جنگ ہوگی تو تمہارے ساتھ ضرور آتے۔ یہ ایمان کی نسبت کفر سے زیادہ قریب تر ہیں اور زبان سے وہ کہتے ہیں جو دل میں نہیں ہوتا اور اللہ ان کے پوشیدہ امور سے باخبر ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] And the Hypocrites also. These were told: "Come, fight in the way of Allah, or (at least) drive (The foe from your city)." They said: "Had we known how to fight, we should certainly have followed you." They were that day nearer to Unbelief than to Faith, saying with their lips what was not in their hearts but Allah hath full knowledge of all they conceal.
[ PICKTHAL ] And that He might know the hypocrites, unto whom it was said: Come, fight in the way of Allah, or defend yourselves. They answered: If we knew aught of fighting we would follow you. On that day they were nearer disbelief than faith. They utter with their mouths a thing which is not in their hearts. Allah is Best Aware of what they hide.
[ SHAKIR ] And that He might know the hypocrites; and it was said to them: Come, fight in Allah's way, or defend yourselves. They said: If we knew fighting, we would certainly have followed you. They were on that day much nearer to unbelief than to belief. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts, and Allah best knows what they conceal.
[ REMARKS : Munafiqeen are closer to kafireen ]

- Sura: 4 - an-Nisaa' (The Women) From Ayat: 61 to 63
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَإِلَى الرَّسُولِ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْكَ صُدُودًا (61
اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ حکم خدا .... اور اس کے رسول کی طرف آؤ تو تم منافقین کو دیکھو گے کہ وہ شدّت سے انکار کردیتے ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed, and to the Messenger": Thou seest the Hypocrites avert their faces from thee in disgust.
[ PICKTHAL ] And when it is said unto them: Come unto that which Allah hath revealed and unto the messenger, thou seest the hypocrites turn from thee with aversion.
[ SHAKIR ] And when it is said to them: Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger, you will see the hypocrites turning away from you with (utter) aversion.

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ جَاءُوكَ يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلَّا إِحْسَانًا وَتَوْفِيقًا (62
پس اس وقت کیا ہوگا جب ان پر ان کے اعمال کی بنا پر مصیبت نازل ہوگی اور وہ آپ کے پاس آکر خدا کی قسم کھائیں گے کہ ہمارا مقصد صرف نیکی کرنا اور اتحاد پیدا کرنا تھا
[YOUSAF ALI] How then, when they are seized by misfortune, because of the deeds which they hands have sent forth? Then their come to thee, swearing by Allah: "We meant no more than good-will and conciliation!"
[ PICKTHAL ] How would it be if a misfortune smote them because of that which their own hands have sent before (them)? Then would they come unto thee, swearing by Allah that they were seeking naught but harmony and kindness.
[ SHAKIR ] But how will it be when misfortune befalls them on account of what their hands have sent before? Then they will come to you swearing by Allah: We did not desire (anything) but good and concord.

أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَعِظْهُمْ وَقُلْ لَهُمْ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ قَوْلًا بَلِيغًا (63
یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دل کا حال خدا خوب جانتا ہے لہذا آپ ان سے کنارہ کش رہیں انہیں نصیحت کریں اور ان کے دل پر اثر کرنے والی محل موقع کے مطابق بات کریں
[YOUSAF ALI] Those men,-Allah knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their very souls.
[ PICKTHAL ] Those are they, the secrets of whose hearts Allah knoweth. So oppose them and admonish them, and address them in plain terms about their souls.
[ SHAKIR ] These are they of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts; therefore turn aside from them and admonish them, and speak to them effectual words concerning themselves.

- Sura: 9 - at-Tawba (The Repentance) Ayat: 101
وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ مُنَافِقُونَ ۖ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ۖ مَرَدُوا عَلَى النِّفَاقِ لَا تَعْلَمُهُمْ ۖ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚ سَنُعَذِّبُهُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ عَظِيمٍ (101
اور تمہارے گرد دیہاتیوں میں بھی منافقین ہیں اور اہل مدینہ میں تو وہ بھی ہیں جو نفاق میں ماہر اور سرکش ہیں تم ان کو نہیں جانتے ہو لیکن ہم خوب جانتے ہیں -عنقریب ہم ان پر دوہرا عذاب کریں گے اس کے بعد یہ عذاب عظیم کی طرف پلٹا دئیے جائیں گے
[YOUSAF ALI] Certain of the desert Arabs round about you are hypocrites, as well as (desert Arabs) among the Medina folk: they are obstinate in hypocrisy: thou knowest them not: We know them: twice shall We punish them: and in addition shall they be sent to a grievous penalty.
[ PICKTHAL ] And among those around you of the wandering Arabs there are hypocrites, and among the townspeople of Al-Madinah (there are some who) persist in hypocrisy whom thou (O Muhammad) knowest not. We, We know them, and We shall chastise them twice; then they will be relegated to a painful doom.
[ SHAKIR ] And from among those who are round about you of the dwellers of the desert there are hypocrites, and from among the people of Medina (also); they are stubborn in hypocrisy; you do not know them; We know them; We will chastise them twice then shall they be turned back to a grievous chastisement

وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًا بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِمَنْ حَارَبَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ (107
اور جن لوگوں نے مسجد ضرار بنائی کہ اس کے ذریعہ اسلام کو نقصان پہنچائیں اور کفر کو تقویت بخشیں اور مومنین کے درمیان اختلاف پیدا کرائیں اور پہلے سے خدا و رسول سے جنگ کرنے والوں کے لئے پناہ گاہ تیار کریں وہ بھی منافقین ہی ہیں اور یہ قسم کھاتے ہیں کہ ہم نے صرف نیکی کے لئے مسجد بنائی ہے حالانکہ یہ خدا گواہی دیتا ہے کہ یہ سب جھوٹے ہیں
[YOUSAF ALI] And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against Allah and His Messenger aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But Allah doth declare that they are certainly liars.
[ PICKTHAL ] And as for those who chose a place of worship out of opposition and disbelief, and in order to cause dissent among the believers, and as an outpost for those who warred against Allah and His messenger aforetime, they will surely swear: We purposed naught save good. Allah beareth witness that they verily are liars.
[ SHAKIR ] And those who built a masjid to cause harm and for unbelief and to cause disunion among the believers and an ambush to him who made war against Allah and His Messenger before; and they will certainly swear: We did not desire aught but good; and Allah bears witness that they are most surely liars.
