Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) Ayat: 55 وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ (55
اور وہ وقت بھی یاد کرو جب تم نے موسٰی علیہ السّلام سے کہا کہ ہم اس وقت تک ایمان نہ لائیں گے جب تک خدا کو اعلانیہ نہ دیکھ لیں جس کے بعد بجلی نے تم کو لے ڈالا اور تم دیکھتے ہی رہ گئے
[YOUSAF ALI] And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on.
[ PICKTHAL ] And when ye said: O Moses! We will not believe in thee till we see Allah plainly; and even while ye gazed the lightning seized you.
[ SHAKIR ] And when you said: O Musa! we will not believe in you until we see Allah manifestly, so the punishment overtook you while you looked on.
[ REMARKS : Allah(swt) can not be seen. Punishment of those who desire to see Allah(swt) in physical form ]

Sura: 2 - al-Baqara (The Cow) Ayat: 118 وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا اللَّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَا آيَةٌ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ ۘ تَشَابَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ (118
یہ جاہل مشرکین کہتے ہیں کہ خدا ہم سے کلام کیوں نہیں کرتا اور ہم پر آیت کیوں نازل نہیں کرتا. ان کے پہلے والے بھی ایسی ہی جہالت کی باتیں کرچکے ہیں. ان سب کے دل ملتے جلتے ہیں اور ہم نے تو اہلِ یقین کے لئے آیات کو واضح کردیا ہے
[YOUSAF ALI] Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).
[ PICKTHAL ] And those who have no knowledge say: Why doth not Allah speak unto us, or some sign come unto us? Even thus, as they now speak, spake those (who were) before them. Their hearts are all alike. We have made clear the revelations for people who are sure.
[ SHAKIR ] And those who have no knowledge say: Why does not Allah speak to us or a sign come to us? Even thus said those before them, the like of what they say; their hearts are all alike. Indeed We have made the communications clear for a people who are sure.
[ REMARKS : Ignorant infidels ask why Allah(swt) does not speak to them? Allah(swt) calls them ignorant - what about the Muslims who believe in seeing Allah(swt) ]
